Flow
Flow
approximately 7'x4 1/2 '
began as an almost animalistic piece- with a burlap encrusted husk of fiberglass. When I arrived in New York with all of its metal and reflections, I realized that this heavy materiality needed to stay in New Mexico. Off came most of it. I continued to relate the metal to the layers of fabric- its color to the white of the fiber glass cloth and paint. During its original fabrication I was thinking of flowing water; ice melting. I like the way it seems to be unravelling on one side.
