White reflective and curved object at dusk

White Reflective and Curved Objet at Dusk
27"x19"
oil on primed linen.
I found this highly polished white pitcher in a barn in Maine. I knew to paint it would both delight me and drive me crazy. And it did. I loved painting on it. Every day for months, when I noticed the light had turned golden, I would run into the studio and try to capture some new magic it presented- often changing the painting completely. What I like about the finished work is the presence- suggested and hard-edge at the same time. As the name suggests, this painting is not about a pitcher, so much as curves, reflection and color. Therefore not unlike my more abstract mixed media works.
